Working with Couples

Being in relationship can bring a huge amount of richness into our lives, and it can also bring real challenges.

Transactional Analysis is the psychotherapeutic framework I primarily use in my practice, and it lends itself particularly well to couples work. We look closely at the patterns of communication that develop between two people. What is said, how it is received, the meaning that is made, and what is sent back in response. Over time, these repeated patterns form the backbone of relationship dynamics, and usually come from a blueprint formed in early life. Before training in Transactional Analysis, I trained in Nonviolent Communication, a simple and brilliant approach that helps identify unmet needs and find workable ways of responding to them.

When the time feels right, working with the difficulties that arise between two people can offer opportunities for growth and healing. Having the right therapist can make a real difference. I offer a supportive space to help couples slow things down, listen differently, and make sense of what is happening between them. Get in touch for a free 20-minute call.

I work with couples both online and in person in West Wales.

Sessions are £60, and 60 mins long, with concessions available for those booking a block or on a low income.

I usually recommend sessions every two weeks, allowing time for reflection between meetings.

After four years of training, I am completing my final exams this year. With your permission, I may audio-record sessions for assessment purposes. Some clients choose not to consent to recording, which is completely fine and does not affect the work we do together.

As of January 2026, I have over 350 hours of supervised client practice.

Please get in touch if you’d like to explore working together.
